Touch Football or Soccer Grab the kids or friends and head out for a game of flag football or soccer. Sports are a great way to exercise without feeling like you are exercising. An hour game will provide a total body workout and you can burn 400 calories.
Trail Walk or Run Get off that treadmill and take advantage of our abundance of hiking trails in the “Hereford Zone”. We are fortunate to have the 20 mile NCR trail in our backyard for you to take advantage of.
We live in horse country so why not give it a try. Horseback riding will not only work your legs but also your core muscles. You will be surprised the different muscles you use while riding a horse. You’ll also burn 350 calories an hour.
Stadium training Head over to Hereford High School and do your workout on the track and turf field. Jog, walk or run around the track. You can incorporate sprints with a rest period to mix it up a bit. Body weight strength training is a great idea if you do not have weights. Lunges and squats are great lower body exercises. Adding pushups and abdominal exercises will round out your workout.
Find a good cause Find a charity run and sign up! The Race for The Cure is a great local one in October. Whether you run or walk doesn’t matter. Just being there and participating is what counts, and you won’t even realize the calories you’re burning along the way.
