Valgus:
Angulation outward and away from the midline of the body.
Varicose Veins:
Vein that is twisted--tortuous--and distended with blood. The term varix is also used for similar abnormalities in arteries and in lymphatic vessels. Varicose veins occur in a number of areas, including the legs; the esophagus, or gullet; the spermatic veins, which return blood from the testes.
Varus:
Angulation inward and toward the midline of the body.
Vertebrae:
Bony segments that make up the spinal column.
Vasoconstriction:
Derease of local blood flow.
Vital Signs:
Respiration, heart rate and body temperature.
Vitamin:
Any of many organic substances that are vital in small amounts to the normal functioning of the body. Vitamins are found in food, produced by the body, and manufactured synthetically; along with minerals, they are known as micronutrients.
